MECHANICAL PRE-PURCHASE INSPECTIONS

At BE-ON Automotive, we are dedicated to giving you quality service according to your needs. Our qualified mechanics will undertake a full mechanical inspection report on your vehicle.

The following mechanical checks are included:

​

  • Engine - Oil level and condition, all fluid levels and condition, power steering, cooling system pressure test, drive belts and pulleys, mounts, noises, radiator and cap condition, road test. 

  • Under body – Exhaust system, drive line, steering components, suspension, fuel hoses, wheel bearings, shock absorbers.

  • Brakes – Brake pads and discs, hand brake, brake hoses.

  • Tyres – Inspect all tyres including spare, rims and nuts.

  • Battery and charging system – Electrolyte level, terminals and leads, charge rate, condition, type and size.

  • Interior components – Seatbelts, window operation, air conditioner operation.

  • Do you need your vehicle inspection to be licensed, remove a defect notice (yellow sticker) or does your vehicle require an annual inspection?
    If you need to get your vehicle inspected in order to license it, remove a defect notice (yellow sticker), or if your vehicle requires an annual inspection then you will need to use an Authorised Inspection Station service provider, a Mechanical Pre-Purchase Inspection is not what you require.   • What is a mechanical pre-purchase car inspection?
    A mechanical pre-purchase car inspection is performed by an automotive professional to examine a second-hand car and report on the mechanical soundness and working order of your car.
  • What does a pre-purchase car inspection cost?
    A Mechanical pre-purchase inspection is $200 (+GST)
  • Are mechanical pre-purchase car inspections covered by insurance?
    Pre-purchase car inspections are not usually covered by your existing car insurance, but the car inspection report may be useful when negotiating the cost of your potential future car insurance.
  • Are mechanical pre-purchase inspection tax deductible?
    If the mechanical pre-purchase car inspection is performed for a car you will be using for business, you may be able to claim some or all the cost as a business expense. Keep a detailed record of the service and the cost, and present this to an accountant or seek further clarification from the ATO.

Please note, if you are booking in for an Automotive Service, New Battery or Tyres. we require your car to be dropped between 8am-9am on the day of the service.

This will ensure that any consumables or parts required during your service have adequate time to be delivered and fitted during the day.
